Two motorists were transported to area hospitals after a head-on collision at about 5:18 p.m. on Murrieta Hot Springs near Jackson Ave., in Murrieta, it was reported today.
First responders for the Murrieta Fire Department and Murrieta Police Department were on scene to render aid.
According to Murrieta Fire Captain Richard Curran, one victim was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut and rescued from the car with the jaws of life.
The driver of the other vehicle was also injured.
Curran described both motorists’ injuries as moderate.
The cause of the crash was not known at the time of this report.
