Update @ 10:30 p.m.: Fire officials report that the fire is now 100 percent contained and held to 500 acres.
Ground crews will remain on the scene throughout the night to ensure full control, officials said.
Update @ 5:25 p.m.: According to a Riverside County Fire Department report, the fire has destroyed 500 acres and is 25 percent contained.
A second firefighter has been transported to an area hospital with injuries.
Update @ 1:45 p.m.: The blaze is now 20 percent contained, but has spread to 250 acres, fire officials said.
One firefighter on scene is being treated for minor injuries.
No structures are threatened, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.
Original: A brush fire has consumed 45 acres at Vista and Rawson roads near Winchester, it was reported today.
According to a Riverside County Fire Department report, the blaze was first reported at 11:52 a.m.
Over 100 firefighters are on the scene of the blaze, along with 11 engines and four helicopters.
No injuries or evacuations have been reported.
