South Coast Winery to host upcoming 2012 Legislative Summit

The Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce invites residents to attend the 2012 Legislative Summit on Thursday, September 27, at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, it was recently announced.

The Legislative Summit informs and educates businesses on important issues facing the state of business in California today.

Participants will hear from experts from the corporate, nonprofit and government sectors in education, healthcare/insurance, business, and more.

Cost is $40 per person.

The event’s moderator will be Gene Wunderlich, Realtors and Government Affairs Director, Southwest Riverside County Association of Realtors.

Panelists include:

Allen Zaremberg, President/CEO California Chamber of Commerce

Allen Zaremberg took over the top staff position in 1998 after six years as executive vice president and head of the California Chamber’s legislative advocacy program.

Supporting policies that give job creators the certainty and stability they need to make investment and hiring decisions has been a priority for Zaremberg.

He has headed statewide ballot campaigns to ensure real taxes require a two-thirds vote, to close the legal loophole that permitted shakedown lawsuits, to assure adequate funding for transportation infrastructure and to oppose anti-business proposals that would have increased the cost of health care, electricity and public works.  He led negotiations culminating in adoption of comprehensive reforms of the state workers’ compensation system, endangered species laws and other key issues.

Ken Rivers, Chief Executive Officer, Southwest Healthcare System

Rivers’ background encompasses over 25 years of executive healthcare administration. Currently, Mr. Rivers serves as the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director at Southwest Healthcare System which operates Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar and Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta and Temecula Valley Day Surgery in Murrieta.

Roger Schultz, President, Mt. San Jacinto College

Roger W. Schultz is the Superintendent/President of Mt. San Jacinto College, a position he has held since 2008. He joined MSJC in 2001 to fill the position of Vice President of Student Services. He also served as interim Vice President of Instruction at the college. Mt San Jacinto College currently serves 23,000 students throughout a 1700 square mile district.

 

Roy Paulson, President Paulson Manufacturing

Roy Paulson is the President of Paulson Mfg which exports to 100 countries and specializes in Safety and Security Products. Paulson was born into the manufacturing business and learned the business from the ground up. His education centered on a combination of business management and associated technical training.  Roy is extremely active in many organizations. Currently, he is a board member on the National Association of Manufacturers and on the California Manufacturers Technology Association as well as an International Committee member for the California Chamber of Commerce.
