CHP: Alleged DUI results in Temecula crash

A San Diego woman whose car overturned along Interstate 15 in Temecula today was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Stephanie Daniels, 19, was driving about 70 mph when she lost control of a Chrysler 300 about 6:40 a.m. on northbound I-15, north of Winchester Road.

A CHP report said that “due to (her) level of intoxication she allowed (her vehicle) to drift into the center median.”

The car’s roof was partially torn off when it overturned, coming to rest on its left side, according to the CHP.

Daniels was uninjured, but she taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Murrieta, then booked for the crime, according to the CHP, which did not say how medical professionals or police determined she was under the influence of marijuana.
