Corona: Reward offered for suspects in firearms theft

A $10,000 reward was offered today for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for taking a dozen firearms from a Corona gun shop.

The break-in happened Aug. 14 at Turner’s Outdoorsman at 2264 Griffin Way, according to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Several suspects wearing long-sleeved clothing and baseball caps stole 12 rifles after forcing their way through a security door, Los Angeles BATF Special Agent in Charge Steven Bogdalek said.

He said the suspects fled in a vehicle, but no description was released.

“The burglary and theft of firearms from a (federal firearms licensee) is a very serious crime and a top investigative priority for ATF and the Corona Police Department,” Bogdalek said.

ATF posted a $5,000 reward for information that results in the suspects’ apprehension, and Turner’s Outdoorsman matched that sum.

“The Corona Police Department is actively moving forward in partnership with ATF regarding this investigation,” Corona police Chief Michael E. Abel said. “We will continue to do so with our manpower and additional resources in order to arrest those responsible and recover the stolen weapons.”

Anyone with information about the crime was urged to call the ATF’s 24-hour tip line at 800-283-4867 and may remain anonymous.

Arent the guys at Turners usually armed? Take for instance Ammo Bros.if someone tried to “FORCE” their way into that store and rob them Im fairly certain they would be met with a loaded pistol to the face? Hopefully these crooks are caught and REAL justice is taken
