A group of people struck a man and a woman at a McDonald’s drive-thru and robbed the man early this morning in La Quinta, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
A man and a woman were sitting in their car at the restaurant drive-thru on Highway 111 at Adams Street shortly after 2 a.m. when three men and two women in a vehicle behind them started yelling at the woman, who was sitting in the front passenger’s seat, Deputy Angel Ramos said.
“They pull her out of the car, they hit her, then proceed to beat the man on the driver’s side and steal some some of his personal belongings,”
Ramos said.
Ramos said the victims weren’t seriously hurt. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspects were described as three Hispanic men and two Hispanic women, all in their 30s. Their vehicle was a newer-model Toyota Camry, red or burgundy in color.
