Two parolees suspected of crashing a stolen vehicle into a telephone pole across from the Murrieta Police Department Friday have been arrested, a press statement reported today.
David Acevedo, 41, of Chino, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run, impaired driving and other offenses when he allegedly crashed the vehicle that was reported stolen Aug. 24 to the Chino Police Department, the statement read.
Acevedo’s passenger, Mayra Fabela, 34, of San Bernardino, was also arrested for being a parolee at large and on suspicion of possession
of stolen checks and mail, according to police.
Police said the driver, carrying a large plastic white bag, fled from the wreckage while the passenger inside was injured.
Officers located the suspect at a condominium complex and discovered the bag contained a U.S. Postal Office mail key along with numerous personal checks and mail belonging to San Bernardino County residents, the press statement read.
Both parolees were medically cleared and booked at the Southwest Detention Facility.
