A brazen carjacker pulled a knife out on his acquaintance after the victim gave the man a ride on just before 6 p.m. Monday Sept. 4, sheriff’s deputies reported.
The male victim told deputies that he picked up his acquaintance from a fast food restaurant close to the intersection of Girard Street and Florida Avenue in Hemet. The suspect asked the owner of the car drive him to the intersection of Yale Street and Brock Avenue.
Once the men arrived at the intersection, the suspect brandished a knife and forced the victim to get out of the vehicle, Sgt. Rose McKinney said.
The carjacker sped off in the victim’s 1998 white four-door Honda Accord with the California license plate number, 5FNG855.
The suspect is described as an adult Hispanic male in his mid-twenties, with a short and stocky build. He was last seen wearing black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The victim told officers he knew the suspect as ‘Bobby.’
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is advising anyone who sees the stolen Honda Accord to immediately call 911 and not approach the vehicle or its occupants.
