Three people were shot leaving one mortally wounded on Monday Sept. 3 just after 7 p.m., it was reported.
Officers arrived on scene in the 200 block of 6th Street in the city of Perris and found two Hispanic men and one Hispanic woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
All three victims were taken to local hospitals for immediate treatment. One of the men succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other two were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover, Sgt. Brian Reno stated in a written report.
Sources say the shooting appears to be gang-related.
The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Perris resident Salvador Islas.
Detectives from the Perris Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators have assumed the investigation.
