A man was arrested this afternoon after driving up to an entrance gate at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and making what were perceived to be threatening statements to military guards.
The motorist arrived at the base’s North Gate shortly before 2 p.m. and confronted the security personnel, according to a statement from the base.
The suspect, whose identity was not immediately available, was detained.
Marine Corps officials closed down the entryway while military and San Diego police questioned the man and searched his vehicle.
Authorities declined to immediately disclose the nature of the alleged threats.
