A 65-year-old chiropractor was charged today with sexually assaulting a patient in his Irvine office.
Dennis Scott Durbin of Costa Mesa, who was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his workplace, was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, with arraignment expected late this morning.
The 28-year-old alleged victim first received chiropractic treatment for an injured knee a year ago, Deputy District Attorney Nicole Nicholson said.
When the woman returned to his office on July 19 of this year for further treatment of the knee, Durbin offered a massage as part of the therapy,
Nicholson said.
During an appointment with Durbin on Aug. 4 for massage therapy, Durbin allegedly sexually assaulted her, Nicholson said. Authorities declined to release details of the alleged assault.
Durbin shares the office with another chiropractor, but that’s their only connection. They use the office on alternating days, Irvine police Lt.
Julia Engen said.
Investigators suspect there may be other alleged victims.

Dr. Durbin did NOT do this; but, Deputy District Attorney Nichole Nicholson is treating him as though he’s guilty before being proved guilty! Wrongfully accused, she’s shut down his office, taken his license to practice, bugged his office, all on the word of a sometime patient who has since decided not to press charges! He’s lost everything except his family, friends, & church!
