An 18-year-old Temecula man suffered major trauma when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle near the intersection of Margarita and Rancho California Roads in Temecula, officials reported.
The collision happened just after 9 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 6 as Lionel McGee was pedaling his bike westbound in the eastbound lanes of Rancho California Road.
According to eyewitnesses, McGee turned left onto Margarita Road and was struck by a vehicle.
Traffic was snarled at the busy intersection as officers interviewed bystanders and witnesses.
McGee was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition, Sgt. Geoff Green said.
It is not known if McGee was wearing a helmet.
