Beaumont crash sends two to area hospitals

Two people seriously injured in a collision in Beaumont were hospitalized today.

Rescuers used hydraulic tools to free the victims from the wreckage at Cherry and Grand avenues shortly after the 9:25 p.m. collision Friday, Melody Hendrickson of the Riverside County Fire Department said.

One victim was airlifted to a hospital, and the other was taken by ground ambulance, she said, adding that both had ”major” injuries.
