A fire that erupted today in an olive tree grove in San Jacinto was quickly surrounded by crews before it reached any structures.
The non-injury blaze was reported shortly before 11 a.m. at Soboba Road and Chabela Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Seven engine crews and two inmate hand crews, numbering around 55 personnel, held the blaze to less than an acre with the help of a water- dropping helicopter. No homes or other structures were damaged by the flames.
Crews were expected to remain at the scene, watching for potential flare-ups, into the afternoon.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
