Lake Elsinore woman nabbed for stealing from man who invited her home from bar

A Lake Elsinore woman is behind bars after a four-month investigation revealed she stole items from a man’s residence earlier this year on May 3, officials reported.

The victim was at a neighborhood bar with some friends and invited a few people he had just met back to his house in the 28500 block of Elinda Road in Temecula.

When the homeowner awoke the next morning, he realized several items had been removed from his house, Sgt. K. McDonald stated in a report.

Investigators from the Temecula Police Department served a search warrant at a home on Avocado Way in Lake Elsinore on Monday Sept. 10 at 2 p.m.

Property taken from the victim’s home was found during the search and Desiree Colbert, 21 was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Additional charges are anticipated, a sheriff’s report stated.
