An Eisenhower Medical Center employee has been appointed to the American Cancer Society’s 2013 board of directors for the California Division, a hospital spokeswoman said today.
Alison Mayer Sachs, community outreach and cancer support services director at Eisenhower’s Lucy Curci Cancer Center, will be installed Sept. 28
in Orange County, Eisenhower spokeswoman Lee Rice said.
The Lucy Curci Cancer Center offers many American Cancer Society programs, including “Look Good, Feel Better, I Can Cope” classes, free local lodging during cancer treatments, and gas cards for those who live 50 miles or more from the hospital, according to Sachs.
“I look forward to working with the many ACS volunteers throughout California to ensure that our neighbors are aware of the many support and
educational programs available for cancer patients and their loved ones throughout their cancer journey,” Sachs said. “As an oncology social worker,
I have turned to ACS time and again when seeking help for the patients and families with whom I work.”
“As our community outreach director, Alison has the opportunity to share her knowledge and communication gifts.”
