A brush fire that burned 30 acres in Banning was 65 percent contained today, according to authorities.
The fire broke out at 7 p.m. Friday long Old Banning Idyllwild Road near Euky Duct Truck Trail, said Melody Hendrickson of the Riverside County Fire Department.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported as result of the blaze, Hendrickson said.
A total of 137 fire crews backed by 17 engines, two bulldozers and a water tender fought the flames, she said.
The fire’s forward progress had been halted by 4 a.m. this morning, she said.
