Beaumont resident killed in Highway 60 crash identified

A woman who died Friday in a head-on collision on Highway 60 was identified today as a Beaumont resident.

Frieda Hampton, 53, died on eastbound Highway 60 about a quarter-mile west of Western Knolls Avenue shortly after the 4:16 p.m. collision Friday, according to coroner’s officials.

The collision involved an SUV and a pickup truck, according to a coroner’s investigator.
