Corona del Mar woman killed in bicycle accident identified

A 29-year-old woman killed on a bicycle in a collision with a truck in Newport Beach was identified today as a Corona del Mar resident.

Sarah Leaf, who was wearing a helmet, was fatally struck near Bayside Drive and East Coast Highway about 10:40 a.m. Friday and died at the scene,
according to police and the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner.

Both vehicles were going east, and the collision happened when the driver of a stake-bed truck turned right on Bayside Drive, according to police.
