Firefighters today were battling a brush fire that had grown to 10 acres near Dawson Canyon Road, officials said.
No structures were threatened by the blaze, reported at 2:35 p.m. in the area of Dawson Canyon Road west of Stuart Drive, according to a written fire department statement.
The fire is about 30 percent contained.
Firefighters reported seeing five to six acres of grass burning in a drainage ditch to the top of the ridge, growing ”at a slow rate of speed,” the statement said.
