A fire that started with a clothes dryer in a second-floor laundry room of an Indio apartment building caused residents to flee the three-story building, and someone was taken to a hospital with an unspecified injury, Riverside County fire officials said today.
The fire in a three-story building in the 81700 block of Avenue 46 was reported at 7:31 p.m. Saturday and contained at 7:50 p.m., according to a fire department spokesperson.
How the person taken to a hospital was injured was not disclosed, though the spokesperson said it was unrelated to the fire.
