Chase bank in Temecula robbed, suspect claimed to have explosive device

A man claiming to have an explosive device robbed the Chase Bank on Rancho California Road on Tuesday Sept. 18 just before 11 a.m., it was reported.

Officers learned an African-American man in his mid-to late 20′s entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller gave the suspect an undislosed amount of cash before fleeing the bank.

The robber was last seen speeding away westbound on Rancho California Road toward I-15  in an older, silver-colored Chrysler PT Cruiser, Lt. Doug McGrew said in a sheriff’s report.

The suspect was described as wearing a beige shirt, burgundy pants, and carrying a black back pack. He had short hair, no facial hair, and was wearing glasses.
