I am looking forward to the Stand-up Comedy Night show outdoors at Bel Vino Winery in Temecula on Saturday, September 29th. The show starts at 7 p.m.
I have my own wine club. It’s the “Trace Your Body Wine Club!”
Here is how it works:
People can send me a bottle of wine, I try it and rate it with my exclusive SINGLEWIDE, DOUBLEWIDE and TRIPLEWIDE rating system.
The Singlewide is for good, everyday drinking wine. The Doublewide is so good that it’s for special occasions like the kids are spending the weekend with their Dad or the cable company screwed up and all the HBO movies are coming on for free! Triplewide means I like it so much, “Send another bottle!”
To enter the club, email me at Traceyourbodywine@yahoo.com. You will receive monthly ratings of the wines people have sent me and wine buying tips from my bargain hunting trips to wineries I travel to all over the country as well as wine closeouts I find in stores such as Grocery Outlet and Big Lots.
People say “Life is too short for cheap wine.” Well, I agree. But just because a wine can be priced cheaply, it doesn’t always mean it is a “cheap” wine!
I want to congratulate Dan Aalfs. I have to disclose that he is my cousin, but he sent in August’s Triplewide selection. It is the Kirkland French Champagne and it’s $20 from Costco.
Okay, I have no way to prove this but if you ask me, I’d guess this may be made at the Veuve Clicquot Cellars in France. If I could afford to buy a bottle of Veuve Clicquot at $40, I would blindfold myself and do a tasting test.
If you are not a comedian and have a real job with huge bonuses and great benefits, and you, like me love a great bargain, buy both Veuve and Kirkland bottles, do the blind taste test and let me know your results. I will share your results with the members. And remember Dan Aalfs, as winner of the Triplewide selection for August, I’m waiting patiently for you to send me that second bottle!
August’s Singlewide ratings came in and thank you to Jessae Dwyer for sending me Big Kahuna Crispy White. It’s $1.99 exclusively from Fresh and Easy Markets. This was an amazing light, crisp, fun white which Jassae told me they served at her bridal shower as the base for a white sangria. After tearing through the sangria, the ladies then drank the wine on its own and everyone loved it. So thanks to the ladies who ended up in the pool in their party dresses for sharing such a terrific find.
August’s Doublewide rating was tied because both wines I received from fans were so amazing, I could not help but give two Doublewide awards for the month.
First, from Bill Powell at Powell Mountain Cellars – Summit -$22 from Paso Robles, a robust red blend of Cabernet, Franc, Merlot and Syrah-it is so delicious! They have produced 172 cases you can purchase at the winery or on web at info@powellmountaincellars.com.
The second Doublewide selection for August is from Paula Danduran of Temecula. Paula, I really loved your Blue Finn Chardonnay at $3.99 from Trader Joe’s. It’s priced like a Singlewide and has the soft mellow complex quality of whispered fruit taste that deserves a Doublewide rating.
Hope to meet lots of you at Bel Vino Winery, feel free sign up for the wine club that night and I’d love for anyone to bring me a bottle for a rating! I will have my “Trace Your Body” T-shirts for sale for the ladies at the event. It’s going to be a terrific night of laughs under the stars with wine and wonderful people. You can purchase tickets at www.onecrazybroadproductions.com. See you there!
