Deputies spotted Michael Weir, 28 of weaving through traffic in the area of Main Street and Camino Los Banos in San Jacinto. Weir ran a stop sign and sped off recklessly.
The suspect turned onto a dead-end street and was apprehended by officers, Sgt. Michelle Larson said.
A search of the vehicle revealed three handguns, including one that was stolen from another state and ammunition.
Weir was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, outstanding felony warrants, felony evading a peace officer, felon in possession of weapons and ammunition and possession of stolen property.
A passenger in the vehicle was later released.
