A woman seen bleeding and crying in an unincorporated area of Riverside County told officers her boyfriend had just beat her up and tried to rape her, it was reported.

Authorities arrived just before 3 p.m. on Friday Sept. 15 to the 5700 block of Colorado River Road in Blythe.
The victim gave deputies the name and whereabouts of the suspect, 44-year-old Brent Colbert Jr. of Blythe, Sgt. Les Carnes stated in a sheriff’s report released today.
She was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for her injuries.
Colbert was arrested at his residence and booked into the Blyth Jail on charges of attempted rape and spousal battery.
