A female motorcyclist — suspected of drunken driving — reportedly crashed into another cycle, closing Palm Springs’ major street at bar-closing time today, police said.
The female suspect’s name was not immediately available. Police said she was driving south on Palm Canyon Drive near Mesquite Avenue when she drove into the other motorcycle at 1:55 a.m.
A man on the second motorcycle suffered unspecified major injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and a woman on that bike escaped with minor injuries, police said.
All north and southbound lanes of Palm Canyon Drive south of Sunny Dunes Road and north of Mesquite Avenue were shut down.
The woman was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving.
