A man was shot in the head outside a Jurupa Valley residence this afternoon, and sheriff’s deputies immediately arrested a suspect.
The attack happened around 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of of Valley Way and 37th Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was apparently involved in a confrontation with another man — or possibly two — when several shots were fired, one of which struck him in the side of the head, according to reports from the scene.
Deputies arrived to find the wounded man inside a house, bleeding but conscious. He was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, but his condition and identity were not immediately known.
A search of the area led to the arrest of a 30-year-old probationer, whose identity could not be immediately confirmed.
Deputies were continuing to search for another man witnesses saw fleeing the location.
