A coroner’s official today released the names of an 81-year-old woman who was killed in a home in Los Feliz and the 28-year-old actor who is suspected of attacking her, then falling or jumping to his death outside the house.
Officers went to a home in the 3600 block of Lowry Road around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday in response to a report of a screaming woman, said Cmdr. Andy Smith, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
The woman, who rented rooms to boarders, was found dead inside. She was identified as Catherine Davis, said Lt. Larry Dietz of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Smith said she had suffered major trauma, but an exact cause of death was not immediately determined.
The body of a man identified by Dietz as Jonathan Lewis, who may have rented a room at the home, was found outside on the driveway, Smith said. He apparently fell or jumped from a roof, balcony or stairway at the house, he said.
Smith said there was “no one around to push” Lewis.
“It appears that some type of altercation occurred inside the house resulting in the death of the woman,” Smith told reporters at the scene.
“Then this individual ran outside, had an altercation with a couple of neighbors, ran back into the house and by the time we got here he had fallen or somehow died on the driveway.”
Lewis, who went by the name Johnny Lewis, was an actor who appeared in the television drama “Sons of Anarchy” as well as on the programs “The O.C.,” “Boston Public” and “Criminal Minds,” among others. He also appeared in the 2010 film “The Runaways.”
