22nd Annual Thunder and Lightning Powwow

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is set to celebrate its 22nd Annual Thunder and Lightning Powwow beginning Sept. 28. The three-day, family-friendly event is expected to attract an estimated 30,000 people. Admission is free.

Hispanic Heritage Month Fashion Show

Hispanic Heritage Month is being celebrated in style at the Galleria at Tyler on Friday and Saturday Sept. 28-29. Hispanidad Fashion will feature a fashion and modeling extravaganza. Retailers such as Macy’s, Forever 21, JCPenney, Windsor, New York & Company, Papaya and Love Culture will be participating in the fashion event.

Dorland Mountain Arts Colony announced it will hold its Dragonfly Arts Festival from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 30. Live music will be provided all afternoon featuring The Tim Moyer Band, Nathan Rivera, Jessie Smith, Joe Gillespie, John Lane, John Quint, Matt Folkmuse Stone and Robert Rankin Walker. Local artists are invited to come up and paint plein air during the event.
