The Chaparral High School Platinum Sound and Emerald Guard will sponsor its annual Middle School Band Night for eighth grade band students from Bella Vista, Day, and Margarita middle schools on Friday, Oct. 12, it was recently announced.
The event gives the younger students the chance to experience the big band feel of playing at a high school football game.
Musicians from each school are encouraged to wear their respective band or school shirts and join high school band members in a practice session beginning at 4 p.m.
A pre-game dinner for all musicians will follow.
Then, the middle school musicians will join the high school band in performing the National Anthem and playing pep tunes during the game.
Parents are welcome to attend; however pre-game food and game admission are provided for musicians only.
