Perris: Police seek answers in fatal stabbing

Sheriff’s investigators have identified a man they want to talk to about a fatal stabbing that unfolded on Second Street, according to a sergeant today.

After interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, detectives narrowed their search down to Jose Rosas, 22, as a “person of interest,” in
the stabbing Friday night of Luis Xique, 20, said Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Torrenti.

At about 9:20 p.m. Friday, Xique was found with stab wounds in the driveway in the 300 block of Second Street, Torrenti said.

Xique died of his injuries at an area hospital, the sergeant said.

Deputies asked anyone with information about Rosas’ whereabouts to call sheriff’s investigator James Merrill of the sheriff’s Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777 or detective Tom Salisbury at 951-210-1000.
