Motorcyclist plunges down embankment near Hemet

A motorcyclist suffered injuries today when he plunged 10 to 15 feet down an embankment from Highway 74 east of the U.S. Forest Service’s Cranston Guard Station, a spokeswoman said.

The extent of those injuries weren’t immediately known, but Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said the motorcycle rider was flown out to an area hospital.

The 9:16 a.m. single-vehicle crash occurred a mile east of the guard station near Hemet, Hagemann said. No other information was available.
