Police: Rancho Mirage man in custody for making criminal threats

A Rancho Mirage man suspected of making criminal threats against his wife and local authorities via a social networking website and text messages and posting information about homemade explosives was arrested today.

Gregory Lavar Glover, 34, was arrested at 6:50 a.m. at Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Drive.

Someone reported a person making criminal threats at a residence on Aqueduct Street  inside the Rancho Mirage mobile home park around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

A man was allegedly making threats via instant messaging on a social networking website against his ex-wife and local law enforcement, sheriff’s Sgt. Andrew Nielsen said.

“Investigators examined various web pages where the suspect posted information regarding homemade explosive devices,” Nielsen said. “The suspect’s ex-wife also alleged simultaneously that the suspect was making threats against her via text messages.”

Glover was detained after he left his residence, and the residence and his vehicle were searched by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Hazardous Device Team. No explosive devices were found, Nielsen said.

Glover was booked into the county jail in Indio, where he was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. He was expected to be arraigned Wednesday at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
