Teens in the program meet every other month to discuss how budget cuts are impacting employment and education opportunities and how to address the situation with political figures.

Recently, some of the teens were invited to Washington D.C. to communicate their needs and the needs of their community to legislative officials such as congress woman Mary Bono Mack, legislative director Kelly Hastings and representative Lou Barletta.

Voices for youth meet every other month at various youth opportunity centers, Case Manager Itza Chavira explained.

Chavira added that The Moreno Valley Youth Opportunity along with Voices for Youth are dedicated to enhancing, highlighting and growing their community’s resources.
