A man suffered severe injuries today when he moved into the path of a moving big rig on the Interstate 215, a California Highway Patrol sergeant said.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was taken by ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital where he is listed in critical condition, Highway Patrol Sgt. Chuck Davenport said.
Highway Patrol officers received the 7:30 a.m. call to the scene south of University Avenue, where the man was struck in the number four lane of
northbound I-215, Davenport said.
The pedestrian may have been involved in an earlier traffic crash, according to Davenport.
