An untold number of people suffered injuries at bar-closing time today in a brawl that broke out on University Avenue in downtown Riverside.
Police cordoned off the often busy street between Market and Orange streets as evidence was collected during much of the morning.
One officer at the scene said the violence stemmed from a bar fight ”gone bad” that happened shortly after closing time at 2 a.m.
The melee occurred in the 3600 block of University Avenue. Police would not immediately disclose how many people were involved, how many were arrested, or what the extent of the reported injuries were.
