Three people were displaced as flames swept through an attic and spread into the bedroom of a duplex apartment in San Jacinto, a spokeswoman said today.
No injuries occurred during the blaze that was reported Friday at 7:32 p.m. in the 200 block of South Grand Avenue. Twenty minutes later, firefighters managed to contain the fire in the bedroom and attic space of the unit where the fire erupted.
Minor smoke damage was spotted inside the attached apartment, said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.
The American Red Cross helped the people who lost their belongings to the blaze, which caused an estimated $60,000 in damages, Hendrickson said.
