Deputies conducting vehicle checks in a San Jacinto movie theater parking lot in the 1500 block of South San Jacinto Street on Wednesday Oct.3 at 8 p.m., discovered one of the cars had been reported stolen, sheriff’s officials reported.
The officer noticed two men sitting in a 2011 gray Honda Civic and ran a search on the car’s license plate.
A computer search showed that the Honda was stolen and one of the men, 31-year-old Fransico Arellano of Hemet was arrested and booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility on charges of possession of stolen property and vehicle theft, Sgt. Joey Nardone said.
The other man was found not to be involved in the theft and was let go at the scene after being detained.
