A truck driver hauling vegetables lost control and overturned on I-215 after a blowing a tire just south of Newport Road in Menifee at about 1 p.m., CHP officials reported today.

“After the tire blew, the driver tried to regain control of the truck, swerved across all lanes and ended up rolling one time,” CHP officer Carl Rosengren explained.
Traffic is snarled in both directions and a sigalert has been issued.
Officer Rosengren advised that if you are driving and a tire blows, don’t slam on the brakes.
“Take your foot off the accelerator, don’t hit the brakes and pull over to the side of the road.”
Cal Fire and American Medical Response were called to the scene, however, both parties refused treatment.
