Police catch gas thieves while serving an arrest warrant in Highgrove

Gas thieves were caught when deputies went to a residence in the Inland Empire community of Highgrove, it was reported.

Officers arrived at the home located in the 3500 block of La Ciotat on Tuesday Oct. 9 just after 1 a.m.

The suspect took off running and a foot chase ensued. Deputies finally caught the man as he was attempting  to hop into a waiting car parked down the street, Sgt. Bryan Vig stated in a sheriff’s press release.

During a search of the vehicle deputies discovered gas siphoning tools along with drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Riverside residents Miguel Gomez, 25, Benedicto Solanga, 37 and Alejandro Sanchez, 38  were arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on multiple charges.
