Get ready for the ghoulish, truly spooky Vampire Vail Halloween Festival at Vail Lake Resort. Guests are invited to take part in a Haunted Hay Ride, a Jurassic Forest that features lifelike sculptures of the prehistoric creatures, courtesy of local artist Ricardo Breceda and more. The weekend event runs from 4 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 12-13, 19-20, and 26-27.
Parade of Planes in Palm Springs
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Aviation Summit will feature more than 70 planes taxiing from Palm Springs International Airport to the Palm Springs Convention Center, where the convention will be held Oct. 11-13. For information on the conference, go to www.aopa.org/summit.
Field of Screams: The Haunted Stadium

What better way to get pumped up for Halloween? All the creepiest, craziest pranks will be waiting for you at the 6th Annual “Field of Screams: The Haunted Stadium” at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore. Doors open to the public now through Halloween.

Look to the skies at Miramar in San Diego for one of the most exciting sky shows in the nation. This popular annual event takes flight Oct. 11-14. Admission, parking and blanket seating are free.

You know it is officially fall when Temecula’s Big Horse Feed & Mercantile opens its popular corn maze and fall fun to thousands of residents and fans throughout the region. The festivities officially kick off Oct. 6 and run through Halloween.
