Heavy rain kept fire crews busy Thursday night in Norco and Jurupa Valley, according to officials.
Several streets flooded, stranding motorists in the cars during downpours, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said in a released statement.
Among the streets that were impacted were: Wineville Avenue, Limonite Avenue, 50th Street, Ben Nevis Blvd. Quartz Canyon Rd., Fircrest Ln., Agate St., Mission Bl. and Hastings Blvd., Fleming St., Glen St. and Villa Woods Dr. in Jurupa Valley.
“A battalion chief, three engine companies and two Cal Fire crews are assisting the city of Norco’s Public Works Department with sandbagging on Mount Shasta Place in Norco,” Hagemann said.
No injuries were reported.
Hagemann urged motorists to “turn around, don’t drown” by avoiding large washes of water when driving in hazardous conditions.
