Update: Wildomar rallies, autistic teen found safe

Update: The missing Wildomar teen, Daniel Soto, was found safe Wednesday afternoon at around 2 p.m., according to law enforcement officials.

“The boy appeared to be safe, but due him being out in the rain and cold he was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center for observation,” Deputy Albert Martinez said.

Update: A search party has been launched to help look for missing teen David Soto, 17. Volunteers gathered at Wildomar City Hall for a briefing at 11:30 a.m. Wildomar City Hall is located at 23873 Clinton Keith Road.

 

Original Story: Deputies from the Lake Elsinore station responded to the 35300 block of Chloe Court in Wildomar on Wednesday Oct. 10 at 6:20 p.m. regarding a missing teen, law enforcement officials reported.

Worried family members told officers the missing teen, 17-year-old David Soto has autism with a mental capacity of a 10-year-old.

Soto, was last seen near his residence at 4 p.m., carrying a Halloween pirate costume.

He reportedly left a note telling his family he was going on a treasure hunt, Cpl. Angel Ramos said in a sheriff’s press release.

Soto is described as a Hispanic male with a light complexion, six-feet tall and weighing approximately 140 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing a yellow and purple Los Angeles Lakers shirt and Lakers shoes.

Community volunteers and sheriff’s deputies are continuing to search for the missing boy, Cpl. Ramos said.

Sheriff’s officials are urging anyone who knows the whereabouts of David to immediately call 911 or the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at 951-245-3300.
