Three men and a teen-age boy were arrested in connection with the gang-related shooting of a Moreno Valley resident, a sheriff’s sergeant said today.
The resident — who was not identified — was wounded in the arm at Plumeria and Saddlebrook lanes shortly after 11:15 a.m. Friday. The victim was treated and released for the injury at an undisclosed hospital, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Brian Holmes said.
The shooting resulted from the rivalry between two warring gangs, which prompted members of a sheriff’s gang task force to take over the investigation, Holmes said.
Task force members located a vehicle parked along Slate Street that was occupied by four male suspects who matched a witness description, Holmes said.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for one of their homes, the sergeant said, who added that evidence linking them to the shooting, as well as evidence of drug sales, was found.
Allen Brim and Jarrell Ellsworth, both of Moreno Valley, Antonio Barragan of Riverside and an unnamed Moreno Valley teen were booked for
suspicion of attempted murder and participation in a criminal street gang, Holmes said.
