Police: Jurupa Valley pair arrested after being found with drugs and stolen car

Two Jurupa Valley residents are behind bars after after officers conducted a post-release community supervision check, it was reported.

Deputies arrived just after 11 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 13 at a home in the 5900 block of Horse Canyon Road in Jurupa Valley.

Amanda Smith, 26, and Joshua Peerman, 28, were detained in the front yard of the home after Smith exited a car that had been reported stolen earlier that day out of Hemet, Sgt. Andrew Elia stated in a sheriff’s report.

Elia added that Peerman was seen throwing a bag of crystal meth and a car key.

Officers found the car belonging to the key down the street. The vehicle had stolen license plates affixed to it.

Smith and Peerman were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.

Smith was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and violation of post-release community supervision.

Peeman was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
