The gathering starts Friday and will be centered on Palm Canyon Drive between Amado and Arenas roads, according to city spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell.

The weekend will include stunt shows, live music and retail vendors, and part of the proceeds will benefit local charities, according to the event’s website.

‘Year after year, this group of motorcycle enthusiasts continues to return to Palm Springs and patronize our shops, hotels and downtown businesses,” said Mary Jo Ginther, director of Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism.

“Merchants really appreciate the increased business and it’s always a hugely successful weekend.”

Palm Canyon will be closed from Amado to Arenas from 6 a.m. Friday until 11 p.m. Sunday. American Heat’s hours of operation are Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
