‘American Idol’ finalist to kick off Race for the Cure festivities

As residents get ready to race for a cure for breast cancer this weekend, “American Idol” singing star Tim Halperin will be on hand to officially kick off the the Susan G. Komen Inland Empire Race for the Cure.

Halperin, “American Idol” season 10 Finalist, will perform from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Promenade Temecula, located at 40820 Winchester Rd. in Temecula.

Look for the concert to take place in Promenade Temecula’s outdoor plaza, in front of Edwards Theater.

The special performance is free and open to the public. Donations on behalf of Komen Inland Empire will be accepted at the show.

Halperin will also perform during the 14th Annual Susan G. Komen Inland Empire Race for the Cure, which begins at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct 21 at Promenade Temecula.

His schedule for the day includes:

-       6:30 a.m. Meeting Survivors in Breakfast Tent

-       8:15 a.m. On Stage for Survivor Ceremony

-       9 a.m. Singing National Anthem – Start Line

-       10:30 – 10:45 a.m. Performance at Award Ceremony
