Proceeds from the event will provide funds for technology and provide essential enrichment programs for students.
“We are so excited for our 4th Annual Turkey Trot which is our largest fundraising event of the year,” said Mandy Rayfield, Abby Reinke PTA President in a released statement. “We had a great turnout last year with runners from across the country participate. With over 1000 participants and spectators anticipated to come out and support our students this year, it’s sure to be a fun and successful event.”
The walk will begin at Abby Reinke Elementary School and the participants will run and walk through a course in the Temecula neighborhood of Paseo del Sol.
The event is open to the public and participants can register online for only $20, which includes race entry, T-shirt, and a hot pancake breakfast.
Gates open at 7 a.m. with opening ceremonies planned for 7:30 a.m. The 5K timed race begins at 8 a.m. and the Fun Run/Walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
After participants cross the finish line back at the school they will enjoy a hot pancake breakfast and fun basket raffles.
Abby Reinke Principal Christine Boyd will be on hand dressed in a festive turkey costume to cheer on the participants.
“This event is such a great opportunity for students and their families to support their school while having a great time,” said Christine Boyd, Abby Reinke Principal. “Without the wonderful families, friends and sponsors who help with the Turkey Trot, we wouldn’t be able to provide access to valuable, educational resources and technology in our classrooms.”
Abby Reinke Elementary School is located at 43799 Sunny Meadows Drive, Temecula.
