The organization, Operation SafeHouse, offers law enforcement a way to help runaway children and other youths in crisis, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Larry Sherman.

As part of the five-day ”Stuff the Bus” campaign, Operation SafeHouse is looking for a variety of donations that include kitchen towels, soap, disinfectant spray and many other things, Sherman said.

The event is from Nov. 3 to Nov. 8.

People can place their donations inside boxes placed next to a bus located at the sheriff’s Palm Desert station at 73705 Gerald Ford Drive.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
