A Corona resident is behind bars after investigators find child pornography images and films during a search of his RV, officials reported.
Deputies arrested Charles Russell Long, 56 at the Glen Ivy RV Resort in Corona on Tuesday Oct. 23 after they recovered computers and cameras from Long’s RV that contained homemade child pornography.
Investigators reported that Long had also filmed and photographed young girls in bikinis at the pool inside the RV park.
Crystal meth was also found in Long’s motorhome.
He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center, but walked out of jail after posting $5,000 bail later that day.
On Thursday Oct. 24, investigators conducted a forensic search of the suspect’s computer. Investigators found evidence of additional sex crimes against children and he was re-arrested.
Long faces charges of attempted lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, showing pornographic material to a child under the age of 14, possession of child pornography and possession of methamphetamine, Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Pauling stated in a report.
His bail has been set at $1 million.
Law enforcement officials said Long had had been staying at the resort for many weeks.
“Investigators believe Long has been staying at campgrounds and RV resorts as far north as Davis, California,” Sgt. Pauling said.
Detectives are actively looking for additional victims that may have been in contact with Long.
Anyone with additional information regarding this ongoing investigation is urged to contact Investigator Cornett of the Lake Elsinore Police Department at 951-245-3000.
